Carey had already taken Sam’s Critical Thinking course during the preparation stage for the 11+ examinations. This type of course was extremely helpful for Carey during the second-round interviews of the 11+ exams.

Starting from this academic year, while preparing for Scholarship exams, Sam has also provided Carey with significant support in general studies, history, English, and creative writing.

Sam’s main teaching strength lies in his ability to combine both the depth and breadth of knowledge. His teaching is not limited to interpreting questions or drilling practice papers. Instead, he guides students to develop strong critical thinking skills and to engage with ideas at a deeper intellectual level.

This approach has also been tremendously helpful for Carey in his symphonic music composition, enabling him to reach a much deeper level of artistic expression and helping him win many international composition awards.

Sam Quill was the finest teacher I had. He opened up poetry and ideas for me, and he was vital in helping me prepare for my Oxford application and in writing references for my successful Masters and PhD applications in both the UK and the US. Quill is an ingenious tutor. Most importantly, he genuinely cares about his students.
